Truck plunges into cliff in Artvin! Married couple dies

In a traffic accident that occurred in the Şavşat district of Artvin, the driver, Şakir Kör (41), and his wife, Nilgün Topçu, lost their lives when their truck plunged off a cliff. The incident occurred yesterday evening on the Yavuzköy highland road in the Şavşat district. The truck, driven by Şakir Kör, a construction equipment operator for the Şavşat Provincial Special Administration, allegedly plunged down a 200-meter cliff after its brakes failed. Bystanders alerted the scene, and health and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene.

Upon examination by paramedics, it was determined that Nilgün Topçu, a passenger in the truck, had died. The seriously injured driver, Şakir Kör, was taken to Şavşat State Hospital by ambulance. However, despite all medical interventions, he died en route. An investigation has been launched into the accident.
