Milito joins the list of coaches who won both Classics in their first short tournament.

With the thrashing of Atlas last weekend, Gabriel Milito joined a select list of Chivas coaches who have won both Clásicos, the Nacional and the Tapatío.
The current Guadalajara coach broke a ten-year streak without a debutant coach winning both matches against Chivas , as the last to achieve this feat was Matías Almeyda .
In total, four coaches have won the two Clásicos Chivas has played: Hans Westerhof (2003), John Van't Schip (2012), Matías Almeyda (2015), and Gabriel Milito in the current tournament. Coincidentally, two of them are originally from the Netherlands, and the other two are Argentine.
Since the beginning of short tournaments, Hans Westerhof was the first to achieve this feat in his first semester. In the 2003 Apertura Tournament, he secured two consecutive victories: first by defeating América 2-1 at the Estadio Azteca and then by defeating Atlas 1-0 at the Estadio Jalisco.
That semester, Guadalajara finished eighth in the overall standings, earning them a spot in the reclassification playoffs, where they lost 4-6 to Toluca.
Nine years later, in 2012, Dutch coach John Van't Schip arrived at Guadalajara as part of the sporting project led by Johan Cruyff with Chivas, which began in the 2012 Apertura Tournament.
Led by Van't Schip, the red-and-white team secured a 3-1 victory at the Estadio Azteca and subsequently defeated Atlas 2-0 at the Estadio Jalisco. That semester, the Rebaño Sagrado finished in eighth place overall with 23 points, but was eliminated 5-2, again at the hands of Toluca.
Three years later, in the 2015 Apertura Tournament, Argentine Matías Almeyda arrived on the red-and-white bench, getting off to a good start in his management at the helm of Chivas, which would later become one of the most important in the history of Guadalajara.
In his first semester with the team, Chivas defeated América 1-2 at the Estadio Azteca and then won 0-1 against Atlas at the Coloso de la Calzada Independencia. Guadalajara failed to qualify for that tournament after finishing 13th in the standings with 23 points.
