The SOL Party will begin its nationwide marches today in Trabzon 's Tonya district and Zonguldak , as it heads towards its congress on October 4-5.
The marches, which will start simultaneously at 13:00, will take place in Tonya's Cumhuriyet Square with the participation of Central Executive Committee Member Alper Taş and in Zonguldak Station Square with the participation of Party Spokesperson İsmail Hakkı Tombul.
The marches, which will be held under the slogan "We are marching against fascism, poverty, and reactionism. We will change," will be a starting point for developing the grounds for a united struggle against the one-man regime. The marches, which will serve as an intervention into the political arena at this juncture where the country has been brought by the palace regime, will continue tomorrow in Samsun. The march will take place in front of Çiftlik Akbank in Samsun at 2:00 PM.
WE CALL ON THE PEOPLE OF SAMSUN AGAINST ONE MANSpeaking before the march to be held in Samsun, SOL Party Samsun Provincial Spokesperson Şafak Yeşiltepe invited all citizens to the march they will organize.
Yeşiltepe said, “The deepening economic crisis, forests burning, agriculture being destroyed, strikes being banned, young people whose futures are being stolen with stolen exam questions, retirees facing starvation, women being murdered, cronies being favored with fake diplomas, municipalities being tried to be eliminated by trustees… We are on the streets for our people who are resisting to live in a country where democracy, justice, and law are absent, and where they are becoming increasingly impoverished.”
Yeşiltepe emphasized that while the paid, privatized education system is adding to the wealth of AKP supporters, schools are under siege by religious sects, saying: "Poor working people have been left without access to the healthcare system. Those who can afford it received treatment in private hospitals, while those who cannot afford it were unable to access the healthcare system or make appointments in public hospitals."
This government, the capitalist system, is responsible for the murder of at least three women every day, the increasing number of suspicious female deaths, and the normalization of violence against women, children, and LGBTQ+ individuals. The Islamist fascist government is solely responsible for all the evil happening in this country.
LET'S UNITE AGAINST FASCISMThat's precisely why we're calling on all our citizens to take to the streets. We're taking to the streets to hold this government, which annulled the Istanbul Convention and abolished Law 6284, to account, to end the one-man rule that backs all sorts of reactionary and dark forces with its mafia, gangs, and sects, and to stand for secularism against the reign of religious fundamentalism. As the SOL Party, we will be together on the streets of Samsun on September 14th, with the slogan "Let's Unite Against Fascism, Poverty, and Oppression." A statement will be made tomorrow at 5:00 PM in Tandoğan Square for the march to be held in Ankara on September 27th.
