7.4 magnitude earthquake in Russia!

The Kamchatka Peninsula in eastern Russia was shaken by a 7.4 magnitude earthquake. The US Geological Survey (USGS) reported that the epicenter was 111 kilometers east of the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. It was recorded that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 39.5 kilometers.

A tsunami warning was issued in the region following the earthquake. Authorities warned coastal residents to exercise caution. Initial reports from the region indicate no specific deaths or damage.

The Kamchatka Peninsula is frequently in the news for major earthquakes. An 8.8 magnitude earthquake struck the region on July 30th. The recent 7.4 magnitude tremor has once again raised the earthquake risk in the region.
