Another arrest request in the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality investigation

An investigation is ongoing by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the suspects, including Ekrem İmamoğlu, who was suspended from his post as Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor after his arrest, on charges of "leading a criminal organization," "membership in a criminal organization," "extortion," "bribery," "aggravated fraud," "unlawful acquisition of personal data," and "tender rigging."
As part of the investigation, it was determined that Şahan, who was previously arrested for "aiding the PKK/KCK terrorist organization" and removed from his post as Şişli Mayor, committed the crimes of "being a member of a criminal organization for profit" and "extortion."
Following the effective remorse received within the scope of the file, the complainant and witness statements, the evidence submitted to the file and the investigations conducted in this direction, it was determined that the suspect had committed many acts of extortion.
The prosecutor's office took the statement of Şahan, who was found to have strong suspicions of transferring the benefits obtained as a result of these actions to a criminal organization.
The prosecutor's office referred Şahan to the criminal court of peace, requesting his arrest.
