'Soros is behind the events'

US President Donald Trump made striking statements about the growing, sometimes violent, protests across the country during an appearance on Fox News. He alleged that billionaire businessman George Soros was financing the protests and announced that the Justice Department would launch an investigation into Soros under the RICO Act, which covers organized crime.
Trump, arguing that some protesters might be “paid provocateurs,” said, “This is not an ordinary protest, it is real incitement.”
The RICO Act, used in the US to target organized crime, is used to combat crimes such as money laundering, bribery, and extortion. Trump recently stated that 95-year-old Soros and his son should be prosecuted for allegedly supporting violence.
Soros is known as one of the Democratic Party's largest donors, having provided $ 128.5 million in support to Democrats in the 2022 midterm elections. His son, Alex Soros, is chairman of the board of directors of the Open Society Foundations.
Trump's accusations against Soros have been resurrected following the recent death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was shot and killed at an event in Utah. In a statement from the Oval Office, Trump said, "Years of hate speech from the radical left is leading to murder. This must stop now."
