Wrong leech therapy was killing him! He stuck it on his neck, poisoning his entire body

Ketevan Nadiradze, 65, underwent leech therapy in her hometown to reduce swelling in her neck . Following this procedure, an infection infected her body, and her vital functions diminished. After suffering pneumonia due to the infection, Nadiradze, who had to breathe on a ventilator for an extended period, was brought to Samsun as a last resort. There, she underwent 40 days of treatment with seven separate surgeries by four different specialists. After recovering from a near-death condition, she was sent home in good health with a cake-cutting ceremony.

'IT WAS IN THE PRE-DEATH PERIOD'
Thoracic Surgery Specialist Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Ulaş Çınar, who provided information about the treatment given to Nadiradze, who was brought to the hospital in very critical condition, said the following:
"Our patient had leech therapy abroad due to a swelling in his neck. Following this, a cyst there abscessed, leading to a widespread abscessed infection that began in the head and neck region and spread to the lungs, the areas above the heart, and his neck. The patient was then forced to remain on a ventilator for a long time. Various drainage procedures were performed at the hospital where he arrived to clear the abscesses that had infected his body, but they were unsuccessful. Due to his prolonged reliance on the ventilator, a fatal pneumonia developed in his lungs. The patient was in a pre-existing state (pre-death stage). His blood pressure and pulse were low, his kidney and liver functions were severely affected, and his brain functions were also poor. We performed a series of operations involving various departments in Samsun. At the end of a series of seven operations, large and small, involving ear, nose, and throat surgery, cardiovascular surgery, thoracic surgery, and plastic surgery, we were able to drain the abscesses and infections in the area and close the resulting open wounds, thus enabling the patient to be discharged. During these procedures, We gradually overcame his severe pneumonia through teamwork. The patient is currently in good general condition and has been discharged. He has no open wounds, can function normally, and his infection rate is nearing zero. The discharge of a patient in such a critical condition after 40 days of dedicated teamwork is a successful product of serious teamwork.
Nadiradze, who was presumed dead before arriving in Türkiye, was restored to health through seven different surgeries performed over a 40-day program by Ear, Nose, and Throat Diseases Specialist Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nesrettin Fatih Turgut, Cardiovascular Surgery Specialist Op. Dr. Murat Küsdül, Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Specialist Dr. Kerem Yılmaz, and Thoracic Surgery Specialist Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Ulaş Çınar.
