Özgür Özel visits İmamoğlu

The Istanbul 45th Civil Court of First Instance ruled to cancel the CHP's Istanbul Provincial Congress, held in October 2023. CHP Istanbul Provincial Chair Özgür Çelik, the main and alternate members of the Provincial Executive Board, and the main and alternate members of the Provincial Disciplinary Board were suspended as a precautionary measure. A temporary board of directors consisting of Gürsel Tekin, Zeki Şen, Hasan Babacan, Müjdat Gürbüz, and Erkan Narsap was appointed. Following the decision, the CHP held an extraordinary meeting.

Following the developments, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel made a statement at the CHP Istanbul Provincial Headquarters. Following the statement, Özel traveled to Silivri and visited Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor and CHP presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is being held in Marmara Prison.
