A moment of silence for Ferhan Şensoy

A documentary by Ferhan Şensoy, an unforgettable figure in Turkish theatre, has premiered. "Ferhangi Bir Yaşam" (A Life in Ferhan), which focuses on the artist's theatrical approach as well as his character, worldview, and authorship, premiered at the ENKA Open Air Theatre.
The premiere of the documentary, written by Zeynep Miraç and shot at the Historical Ses Theater, was met with great interest. The evening was attended by numerous guests, including the artist's family, school friends, the Ortaoyuncular cast, and contributors to the documentary.
'A UNIQUE ARTIST'
Before the screening, ENKA Art Director Gül Mimaroğlu and ENKA Art Coordinator Murat Ovalı each gave speeches. Describing Şensoy as "a peerless artist, a master storyteller, and a voice of resistance with his sharp pen," Mimaroğlu concluded: "His words, instrument, and humor always offered us a new perspective. This documentary is a tribute that follows him in his footsteps."
Murat Ovalı said: “We are gathered here tonight not only to watch the premiere of a documentary, but also to share the love and respect we feel for a great master, Ferhan Şensoy.”
Speaking after the screening, director Selçuk Metin explained that he had spoken to Ferhan Şensoy before the pandemic and conveyed his intention to make a documentary. He said, "He was very happy about it. I wish we could have done it while he was alive, but it was only possible today. I thank ENKA Sanat very much for this."
'HE WILL ALWAYS EXIST'
His daughter, Derya Şensoy, spoke on behalf of the family: “When I watched the documentary here today, I realized something. Your love and care will keep my father alive forever. I thank ENKA Sanat, Porte Film, and Selçuk Metin for working day and night to prepare this documentary. As my father said, ‘Ortaoyuncular’ will always exist, but tonight, in your presence, I realized that Ferhan Şensoy will always exist, too.”
