Ani Lorak notified the Federal Tax Service about receiving Russian citizenship

Singer Ani Lorak has notified the Federal Tax Service of Russia that she has received Russian citizenship, according to legal documents available to RIA Novosti.

Earlier, a source close to the singer told RIA Novosti that Lorak (real name - Karolina Kuek) received a Russian passport on June 9.

The corresponding application was submitted to the tax authorities on June 30, and official changes were made on July 6, documents confirm.

Earlier it was reported that Ani Lorak received citizenship of the Russian Federation, her passport was issued on June 9, 2025, a source close to the artist informed. It is specified that the singer kept her real name in the passport - Karolina.

Let us add that back in 2016, State Duma deputy Vitaly Milonov expressed his willingness to assist Lorak in obtaining a Russian passport, but at that time the singer’s representative claimed that she did not plan to change her citizenship.

Ani Lorak, a native of the Chernivtsi region, was awarded the title of People's Artist of Ukraine in 2008. After the events of 2014, she stopped giving concerts in her homeland and lived permanently in Russia, where during her Russian period of creativity she won many professional awards, including the Golden Gramophone and the title of laureate of the Song of the Year festival.
