Sporting strengthens with former Oliveirense player Malik Morgan

American point guard Malik Morgan, who can also play as a winger, will play for Sporting in 2025/26, after representing Oliveirense's basketball team last season, the Lisbon club announced today.
"I'm very excited about the opportunity, eager to get started, meet teammates and coaches. (...) I'm a versatile player, I like to play offensively," said the 31-year-old reinforcement, quoted by the 'green and whites'.
Morgan moved to European basketball after completing his college career in the United States, helping Oliveirense win the League Cup in 2024/25, his debut season in Portugal.
"It's going to be an exciting season. We have a lot of versatile players who can run and throw, a different energy than last season, and we need all the support we can get to be better," he added.
