Rowing: Naval and Académica trio win silver at the European Under-23 Championships

Rowers Afonso Santos and Pedro Rodrigues (Naval Remo) and Tomás Neves (Académica) joined, yesterday, with Diogo Gonçalves (Fluvial Portuense) the crew that won the silver medal in quadriscull (BM4x) at the European Under-23 Rowing Championships, taking place in the Czech Republic.

The Portuguese quartet's boat finished in 05:57.15 minutes, the same time as Poland, third, only surpassed by the crew of independent athletes, who crossed the finish line in 05:54.23.

In the end, quoted by the Portuguese Rowing Federation, Tomás Neves remarked: "It was a well-deserved result, the result of a lot of hard work since the beginning of the season. We always believed and managed to stay in contention for the medal until the very end."
