A great time for a vacation in Poland. Temperatures here can reach up to 29 degrees Celsius.

July wasn't the best month for vacationers in Poland. However, forecasters have some good news – the second half of the summer promises to be better. What kind of weather can we expect in the coming days in popular vacation destinations?

Although the average temperature at the beginning of the month is lower than normal, it will be warmer in the second ten days of August (August 11-20).

Forecast for the weekend of August 9-10

On the weekend of August 9 and 10, the maximum temperature will range from 21-23 degrees in the northwest, around 27 degrees in the center of the country to 29-30 in the south.

• Sopot – Saturday in Sopot won't be hot, but it's still good for relaxing on the beach – thermometers will reach up to 24 degrees Celsius. Sunday looks similar. According to the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW), only scattered showers are expected in northern Poland on August 9-10.
• Zakopane – Temperatures will reach 27 degrees Celsius on Saturday, with mostly sunny weather. Sunday will be even warmer, with temperatures expected to reach 29 degrees Celsius during the day.
• Giżycko – Saturday promises to be sunny, with no rain. According to the IMWM model, temperatures will reach up to 19 degrees Celsius during the day. Other forecasts call for temperatures as high as 24-26 degrees Celsius over the weekend, with scattered showers and partly cloudy skies on Sunday.

The 10-day numerical forecast shows that we can expect hot days in Poland soon, but they won't last long . Before the long weekend, temperatures will reach over 30 degrees Celsius in the northwest and south of the country. The middle of next week could be a good time for beach time.

What is the weather like in August in Poland?

In an earlier long-term forecast, the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW) indicated that "over most of the country, the average monthly air temperature will most likely be above the long-term average for 1991-2020. On the coast, temperatures are likely to be within the normal range. Monthly precipitation totals should be within the normal range," we read.
