FC Utrecht starts European adventure in Moldova or Kosovo

FC Utrecht will start the European adventure of the new season with a two-legged match against FC Sheriff from Moldova or FC Prishtina from Kosovo. This was determined by a draw at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.
FC Utrecht will start the second preliminary round of the Europa League on July 24 with an away match. The return match will be a week later in the Galgenwaard. FC Sheriff and FC Prishtina will meet in the first preliminary round.
FC Utrecht finished fourth in the Eredivisie last season and is therefore allowed to participate in the preliminary rounds of the Europa League. The third round of the Europa League is scheduled for 7 and 14 August. If FC Utrecht defeats two opponents, the decisive play-offs for a place in the main tournament of the Europa League will follow on 21 and 28 August.
