Free Medical Check-up for Heart and Artery Diseases in Ksar al-Kebir
The residents of Ksar al-Kebir benefited from free medical services on Saturday and Sunday through a specialized medical caravan focused on heart and artery disease screening.
This caravan, organized by the Ksar al-Kebir Doctors' Association in collaboration with the regional health department and an international clinic in Tangier, provided free check-ups for over 400 individuals from the city, which lacks a public specialist in heart and artery diseases.
Abdul Hamid Benouna, president of the Ksar al-Kebir Doctors' Association, noted that the initiative was well-received by the community, with more than 400 beneficiaries receiving screenings at the local hospital. He emphasized that such initiatives aim to address the healthcare gaps in Ksar al-Kebir, which currently lacks a permanent public heart specialist.
Dr. Benouna highlighted that the caravan was organized to meet the needs of the city’s population, expressing gratitude for the full support from the regional health department and local authorities, which facilitated the medical team's operations, ensuring that "the initiative was executed under very good conditions."
Hamza Alaoui, director of health care at the international clinic in Tangier, pointed out that this humanitarian initiative enabled over 400 people to benefit from free examinations conducted by a team of about 20 doctors and nurses, adding that similar initiatives will be organized in the coming months.
Several beneficiaries praised the quality of services and examinations provided, particularly through electrocardiogram (ECG) screenings. They acknowledged that the initiative effectively addressed the healthcare shortages in heart and artery medicine, which often forced patients to travel to nearby cities for necessary examinations.
