The Handmaid’s Tale is back for a final reckoning. The Emmy-winning Hulu drama returns for its sixth and last season, closing out June Osborne’s long and grueling fight against the oppressive regime of Gilead.
Season 6 picks up immediately after the tense season 5 finale, with June (Elisabeth Moss) and Serena (Yvonne Strahovski) unexpectedly boarding the same refugee train with their children. It’s an unlikely alliance, but acc0rding to showrunner Yahlin Chang, this season “is so much about choice—whether to go towards the light or go towards the dark,” she told Deadline. “The choices they make are sometimes surprising, and you won’t see them coming.”
For those who’ve been following June since the beginning, this final arc promises one last push toward justice—or, at the very least, vengeance.
How many episodes are in The Handmaid’s Tale season 6?Season 6 will span 10 episodes, just like the last two. This final chapter brings long-simmering conflicts to a boil and lays the groundwork for the upcoming sequel series, The Testaments.
When do new episodes from season 6 drop? The final season premiered on Hulu with an initial three-episode drop. New episodes will follow weekly, every Monday, through May 27.
