The IETT bus with the registration number 34 TN 1796, driven by Abdullah Sevindik and operating the Ataşehir-Bostancı route, caught fire in its engine section on Turgut Özal Boulevard in Mehmet Akif Neighborhood.

Passengers who saw the flames rising got out of the bus by their own means.

Upon notice, firefighters and police teams were dispatched to the scene.
