Footballer Thomas Partey accused of rape

Ghanaian former Arsenal player Thomas Partey has been charged with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.
The charges date back to 2021-2022 and involve three separate women. Partey is accused of two counts of rape on one woman, three counts of rape on a second woman and one count of sexual assault on a third woman.
Partey, 32, will appear before Westminster Magistrates' Court on August 5.
According to The Guardian, the prosecution service said: “After carefully considering an extensive file of evidence, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has approved the prosecution of Thomas Partey.”
According to the news by journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, Fenerbahçe officially contacted Thomas Partey's manager and asked about the player's conditions.
Born in Krobo Odumase, Ghana, in June 1993, Thomas Partey signed for Spanish side Atlético Madrid in 2012. After loan spells with Mallorca and Leganés, he made his debut for the club three years later.
Partey, who played 188 matches for the Spanish team, helped them win the Europa League in 2018 and the La Liga title in 2021. He was transferred to Arsenal in October 2020 with a release clause of £45 million.
Partey scored four goals and made three assists in 52 appearances for Arsenal last season, and also scored 15 goals in 53 appearances for the Ghana national team.
