Bright Osayi-Samuel joins Birmingham City

Right-back Bright Osayi-Samuel, whose contract with Fenerbahçe has ended, has transferred to Birmingham City, one of the English First League (Championship) teams.

Birmingham City have announced on their website that they have reached an agreement with Osayi-Samuel.

The 27-year-old Nigerian right-back transferred to Fenerbahçe from English team OPR in 2021, and his contract expired last season.

The Nigerian footballer played 120 matches in the Super League for Fenerbahçe, scoring six goals and making nine assists.

TRT Spor announced on June 27 that an agreement between Osayi-Samuel and Beşiktaş was close.

On June 29, Beşiktaş Club President Serdal Adalı announced that they stopped the match due to Osayi-Samuel's and his father's meaningless demands. Adalı told AA:

"We have decided to stop the transfer due to the last minute change of meaningless requests of Osayi-Samuel's father. We are waiting for news from the other side. If he complies with the conditions we discussed before, he will come, otherwise our alternatives are ready."
