Xiaomi managed to leave Apple and Huawei behind

Xiaomi became the top-selling smartwatch brand in the second quarter of 2025. With 61% annual growth, the company surpassed Apple and Huawei. According to new data, Huawei is in second place, followed by Apple in third.
Total sales increased by 13 percent compared to the previous period and reached 50.2 million units.
While premium smartwatches appear to be more popular and selling better, smartwatch sales are also on the rise, with demand for more entry-level models like the Xiaomi Band and Redmi Band increasing.
Research company Omdia predicts that the market will grow by 8 percent by the end of 2025 and 9 percent in 2026.
Data shows that even though fewer smartwatches are being purchased, people are spending more on these expensive smartwatches.

Meanwhile, Apple saw a 1 percent drop in shipments, while Samsung saw modest sales growth.
This new data suggests that users are opting for devices that work with their existing phones, rather than offering unlimited and high-end features. This could push companies to shift their strategies.
Xiaomi's smartwatches can be used with phones running iOS and Android, allowing a wider range of people to use them. In contrast, the Apple Watch doesn't work in the Android ecosystem . Similarly, Samsung's smartwatches aren't compatible with iPhones , which is pushing people to buy watches from their existing phones. However, owning any current phone is sufficient to purchase and use the Xiaomi Band models.
