New Apple Vision Pro model announced: Here are the features

Apple has unveiled an updated version of its Vision Pro headset. The new model comes with the company's next-generation chip, the M5 processor. This chip will also be used in the new iPad Pro and MacBook Pro models. The original Vision Pro featured the M2 chip, so the new model is expected to be both faster and more powerful.
The device's US price will be the same as the original model's launch price of $ 3,499. So, it seems Apple won't be backing down on the device, which comes with 256GB of storage. The new Vision Pro headset now features top-mounted support thanks to the Dual Knit Band. This improves the comfort and stability of the first model, which were criticized. Existing Vision Pro owners can purchase this headset, which is also compatible with the original version, separately for $99.
The new Vision Pro will focus on performance with the M5 chip

Apple says the M5 Vision Pro is faster at almost everything, from opening apps to browsing the web. The new chip's 10-core GPU significantly improves the detail of light, shadow, and reflections in games, thanks to hardware ray tracing and advanced mesh shading support. The company says this will enable "extraordinarily realistic" visual effects in games like Control. The headset also promises a sharper viewing experience by offering 10 percent more pixels on its micro-OLED screens.
Battery life has also been slightly extended. Apple says the new model offers 2.5 hours of general use and 3 hours of video playback. The original Vision Pro lasted 2 and 2.5 hours, respectively.
Meanwhile, Apple was reportedly initially working on a lighter, more affordable Vision Pro, but the company has abandoned that plan and instead focused on developing smart glasses. Reportedly, the screenless smart glasses, which can be paired with iPhones, will be released in 2027, with a model with a built-in display slated for 2028. The new M5 Vision Pro will go on sale on October 22nd.
