The clearest photo has been published: The mystery of the giant object has been solved

The sharpest images obtained from the Gemini South Observatory in Chile have solved the mystery of 3I/ATLAS, which has been a subject of debate for months. The object, moving towards the Sun at a speed of 221 thousand kilometers, has a bright region around its nucleus and a tail extending away from the Sun. CONFIRMED THAT IT IS A COMETS Color images taken when it was approximately 380 million kilometers from Earth showed that the object has a dense icy core. A long tail that emerged with sunlight was also detected. “These new images clearly show that 3I/ATLAS is a comet,” said Dr. Mark Norris from the University of Lancashire. A DIFFERENT CHEMICAL STRUCTURE According to Dr. Matthew Genge from Imperial College London, 3I/ATLAS’s atmosphere contains more carbon dioxide and less water than that of comets on Earth. This indicates that the object formed in a region much farther away from its parent star. The researchers state that this finding provides important clues about planet formation processes in distant star systems. “ALIEN SHIP” THEORIES DISRUPTED Prof. Avi Loeb of Harvard University had previously suggested that 3I/ATLAS could be an artificial, even nuclear-powered, spaceship. However, the observed tail clearly revealed that the object was a natural celestial body. Dr. Genge put an end to the speculation, saying, “The little green men have no hand in this.” SHORT-TERM OPPORTUNITY Scientists emphasize that they only have a short observation window, so they are trying to gather as much data about 3I/ATLAS as possible. “Each interstellar comet is a messenger from another star system. By studying them, we are beginning to understand the diversity of the universe,” said Bryce Bolin of Eureka Scientific.
