Ergin Ataman lashed out at FIBA after the match

The Turkish National Basketball Team defeated Sweden 85-79 in the 2025 European Basketball Championship and advanced to the quarterfinals.
Head coach Ergin Ataman harshly criticized FIBA's game time selection in his post-match statement, saying, "There's such a thing as body rhythm! If you schedule the group winner's match for 12:00 a.m., we'll start badly! I expected this. This is the second absurd thing FIBA has done to us! You're bringing players here for a game at the crack of dawn. I feel sorry for FIBA! Anyway, they haven't achieved their goal."
ALPEREN ŞENGÜN ALSO REACTED
Match star Alperen Şengün also stated, "We're not going to play well every day. It was one of our worst days. From now on, we can't afford mistakes. We took control of the game in the second half. I congratulate the team. We're a much better team than Sweden. The match is at 12 o'clock. Every team has a chance at a time like this. Sweden showed that chance. Because we're a good team, we didn't give up, stayed in the game, and won."
