Greek press: Steel Dome is changing the balance of power in Türkiye

The Altay main battle tank and Steel Dome air defense system, developed by the Turkish defense industry, have also generated widespread interest in neighboring Greece. The Greek newspaper To Vima emphasized that the Altay tank is entirely domestically produced and described it as "a symbol of the new era."
The report stated that tank production had begun at the BMC factory in Ankara, using industrial robots and high-tech production lines. The Altay tank has entered the inventory of the Turkish Armed Forces, NATO's second-largest army, marking a significant milestone in Türkiye's goal of becoming self-sufficient in defense.
To Vima reported that, in addition to the Altay, the next-generation 8x8 armored combat vehicle, the Altuğ, is also in production. The report also quoted BMC Chairman Fuat Tosyalı, emphasizing that the factory was designed with the capacity to manufacture for friendly and allied nations.
The Steel Dome air defense system, developed by Türkiye, was also highlighted in the Greek press. The report quoted President Erdoğan as saying, "This system will instill confidence in friends and fear in enemies," and emphasized that the Steel Dome will shift the balance of power in the region.
To Vima also described Türkiye's $1.5 billion Oğulbey Technology Base as "the largest defense industry investment in the Republic's history." The report also highlighted the Turkish defense industry's total project volume, number of companies, annual revenue, and export figures.
