Provincial Director of National Education Yentür met with education stakeholders

The 2025-2026 academic year begins on Monday, September 8th. Nearly 3 million students across Istanbul will begin classes at 10:00 a.m. 39 District National Education Directorates are meeting with all education stakeholders as part of the "We Listen to Istanbul Meetings," coordinated by the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education. Provincial Director of National Education Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Mücahit Yentür held the first meeting of this academic year at the Provincial Directorate of National Education building. The meetings, which will be held on Saturdays between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., aim to develop rapid solutions to potential problems that may arise during the education process, resolve disruptions, provide information on frequently asked questions, and develop effective solutions.
'THE MAIN PUBLIC OBJECTIVE IS TO PROVIDE EFFECTIVE PUBLIC SERVICES'Stating that the Saturday meetings, which have been going on for two years, are continuing productively, Istanbul Provincial Director of National Education Assoc. Murat Mücahit Yentür said, "For two years, we've been listening to Istanbul two Saturdays a month, without an appointment. Our doors are open to everyone. We held Saturday meetings on the non-working day to allow our parents, teachers, students, and all stakeholders in education to convey their requests and concerns firsthand to the Provincial Director of National Education. This has been continuing productively for two years. This year, as the academic year begins, we've turned the holiday into a working day. Our 39 district directors of national education are in their offices listening to our parents, students, and teachers. Between 10:00 and 15:00, anyone who wishes can go to our district director of national education without an appointment, to share their complaints, requests, wishes, or guidance regarding education and training, and to contact our district directorates in any area they require, without an appointment or intermediary. The main goal here is to provide an effective public service. We appeal to all segments of society. Our parents can directly explain any concerns they have to our district director of national education, without getting bogged down in bureaucracy, and we can find a solution together." "We've developed a communication and governance model that explores ways to hear firsthand the reasons and consequences. We've received tremendous support from parents in Istanbul. Our primary goal is to establish warm communication with all stakeholders, fostering mutual understanding, to improve the quality of education. This Saturday, we're listening to all of Istanbul," he said.
Yentür said, "The first day of school in Istanbul, as announced by our Minister of National Education, Yusuf Tekin, will begin at 10:00 a.m., a practice we first implemented last year and which continues this year. Istanbul is a very large city with heavy traffic. Due to the excitement of parents and their desire to drop their children off at school themselves, as well as to avoid any problems in our city caused by school bus traffic jams, school will begin at 10:00 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, September 8th. We wish all our students success and convenience. May our academic year be auspicious and prosperous."
