New guest from the north at Istanbul Airport: Icelandair

Istanbul Airport continues to expand its international flight network. Located at the intersection of Europe and Asia, Istanbul remains a major attraction with its historical heritage and cultural diversity, and the number of airlines operating scheduled flights to IGA Istanbul Airport has surpassed 115. Icelandair, Iceland's flag carrier, began scheduled flights to Istanbul on September 5th. Icelandair became the seventh new airline to launch flights in 2025. The new route will operate two to four weekly flights between Reykjavik and Istanbul. Flights will utilize 160-seat Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. Furthermore, Icelandair's codeshare agreement with Turkish Airlines has been expanded with the launch of its Istanbul service. Thanks to this partnership, passengers will have fast and easy connections to many destinations in Asia and the Middle East via Reykjavik. Finally, since the beginning of this year, İGA Istanbul Airport has strengthened its position on a global scale by hosting All Nippon Airways from Japan, Fly Sepehran from Iran, Fly Jordan from Jordan, Air Europa from Spain, KM Malta from Malta, Syrian Air from Syria and, most recently, Icelandair from Iceland.
