Israeli warplanes bomb Yemen's capital

The genocidal Israeli army launched intense airstrikes on Yemen's capital, Sana'a. According to the official Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation (KAN), 14 warplanes bombed the Presidential Palace, fuel depots, and two power plants. The Houthis claimed 40 missiles were used in the attack.
The Houthis said in a statement that the attack, launched Sunday afternoon, caused widespread destruction at the Haiz Power Plant and caused a complete power outage in the capital. Initial reports indicated two people were killed and 35 injured. The Houthis also stated that the attack was a desperate attempt to disrupt Yemen's support for Gaza.
The Yemeni Ministry of Health and Environment announced that the death toll has not been confirmed, and that civil defense teams continue to extinguish the fires and search for those trapped under the rubble. Çiğdem K.'s body was taken to the forensic morgue. An operation has been launched to apprehend the suspect, who fled.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, a genocidal Israeli, announced that attacks on Yemen would continue. This was the fifth such attack on the vital Haiz Power Plant. Previously, the plant, which sustained extensive damage, had been repaired and restarted each time.
The Houthi-affiliated Yemen Petroleum Company stated that fuel supplies to the free zones were continuing. The company stated that necessary precautions were being taken to address emergencies. The Israeli army claimed that the attack was in response to missiles fired by the Houthis at Israel and claimed that the Presidential Palace was the headquarters of the Houthi forces.
Al-Masirah television and Saba News Agency reported that air defense systems neutralized several Israeli aircraft involved in the attack. Israeli media reported that the attacks followed a missile carrying a fissionable warhead launched by the Houthis into central Israel last week.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel, which has committed genocidal crimes with US support, has killed 62,686 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured 15,951 people in Gaza. Nine thousand people are missing, hundreds of thousands have been displaced, and 289 Palestinians, including 115 children, have died from famine.
