Contacts between the US and Hamas resumed after a break

Israeli media reported that talks had resumed in recent days between the US administration and Hamas after a weeks-long hiatus. Citing US and Arab sources, Israel Hayom newspaper emphasized that even with the resumption of contacts, Washington would not obstruct Israel's advance into Gaza. The report noted that the resumption of talks followed the failure of mediation efforts by Egypt and Qatar. The US position was based on the view that the war could only end with a comprehensive agreement guaranteeing the release of all prisoners.
It was reported that Washington had signaled the need to launch an urgent negotiation process with Israel within this framework. US President Donald Trump stated yesterday that they were holding intense negotiations with Hamas regarding a prisoner swap and demanded the release of all captives. In response to a question about Gaza, Trump stated that they were holding intense negotiations with Hamas and had conveyed the need to release all captives immediately. Trump also stated that they were negotiating with Hamas regarding the release of 20 captives and that 30 captives were believed to be dead.
