The Diyarbakır Branch of the Health and Social Service Workers' Union (SES) issued a statement in front of the Gazi Yaşargil Training and Research Hospital regarding the increasing violence targeting healthcare workers. Speaking at the announcement, which featured a banner reading " Violence in healthcare is the rottenness of the system," Songül Haşimoğulları, the SES Workplace Representative at the Gazi Yaşargil Training and Research Hospital, stated that "an instigated healthcare system paves the way for violence."
According to a report in MA, Haşimoğulları reported that violence was directed at healthcare workers in the emergency room at their hospital on September 11th. Songül Haşimoğulları noted that, less than a day later, five healthcare workers, four of whom were women, were subjected to violence in the MRI department. Songül Haşimoğulları said, "We, healthcare workers who work day and night to save lives, do not accept being forced to work in an environment that threatens our own lives. The hospital administration is failing to fulfill its duty and failing to implement security measures. Despite our requests, the Ministry of Health is failing to take deterrent and effective steps and is turning a blind eye to the continuation of violence in healthcare. We will not remain silent until violence in healthcare ends."

The Istanbul Medical Chamber released a statement regarding the incident, stating that Kundak was subjected to violence after telling a patient who had requested medication without registering to register and come for an examination. The statement, which reported that the suspects were taken to the police station after the attack and released without giving their statements, stated, "The lack of security cameras within the unit and the inability to connect to the hospital switchboard to issue a 'White Code,' have once again exposed our unsafe working conditions.
