Israel bans two British MPs from entering Palestinian territories

Diplomatic tensions are building between the UK and Israel. Peter Prinsley and Simon Opher, MPs from the ruling Labour Party, announced that they were denied entry to Israel after visiting the occupied Palestinian territories for talks. The MPs, both doctors, stated that the purpose of the visit, organized by the Council for Arab-British Understanding (CAABU), was to observe medical and humanitarian services in the West Bank.
STRONG CONDEMNATION FROM THE BRITISH GOVERNMENT
The UK government reacted strongly to the treatment meted out to the MPs. UK Secretary of State for the Middle East, Hamish Falconer, described the situation as "unacceptable" in a statement on the X platform. Falconer said, "It is unacceptable that two British MPs are being prevented by Israel from entering the occupied Palestinian territories. I have been in contact with both colleagues since the beginning of this process and have made it clear that this is not the way British MPs should be treated."
This is not the first time Israel has barred British parliamentarians from entering the country. In April, two British MPs, Yuan Yang and Abtisam Mohamed, were also denied entry.
