MESS Strengthens the Future Metal Industry with a Qualified Workforce

The Turkish Metal Industrialists' Union (MESS), Türkiye's largest and most established employer union, operates under the vision of "New Generation Unionism," and continues to invest in Türkiye's future through projects it implements with a focus on social good. In line with this vision, the MESS Education Foundation, established under the leadership of MESS, makes a strategic contribution to the development of our country through vocational and technical education projects and support for vocational high school students in earthquake-stricken areas.

TURKEY'S MOST COMPREHENSIVE VOCATIONAL EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM IN ITS 10TH YEAR : The MESS Education Foundation offers non-refundable scholarships to the children of employees of MESS member businesses studying in vocational and technical high schools through MESS Tomorrow, the largest scholarship program in its field. Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the MESS Tomorrow Scholarship Program has reached 50,000 young people across Turkey with scholarship support. One in three vocational high schools in Turkey has at least one MESS Tomorrow scholarship recipient.
While the general trend is a decrease in the number of students in vocational education, the MESS Tomorrow Scholarship Program increases interest in the metal industry, responding to the sector's need for a qualified workforce and providing a stable and sustainable contribution to the future of young people.
MESS BOARD CHAIRMAN AKKOL: "OUR MESS SCHOLARSHIPS ARE THE FOUNDATION OF TOMORROW'S STRONG AND COMPETITIVE METAL INDUSTRY." MESS Board Chairman Özgür Burak Akkol said, "With our MESS Vocational Education Scholarship Program, we have provided scholarship support to 50,000 scholars from all over the country in 10 years. We are pleased to see that the children of our MESS member employees are increasingly choosing metalworking fields in their educational preferences.
In the first years of the MESS Vocational Training Scholarship, 35% of scholarship recipients received training in fields related to the metal industry. This rate has steadily increased each year, reaching 60% by the 2024-2025 period. This remarkable increase is not just a statistic; it demonstrates a powerful social investment. This demonstrates that the younger generations of the MESS family are preparing to shoulder the future of industry. Our MESS scholarship recipients are laying the foundation for tomorrow's strong and competitive metal industry.
"We will continue to strengthen vocational training and support a qualified workforce with determination. I would like to take this opportunity to wish both our scholarship recipients and all students success in the new academic year," he said.
