The reason for the reduced sentence given to Ayşe Vural, the mother who killed her daughter Zeynep Vural, was explained.

The reasoning behind the 16-year-and-8-month prison sentence handed down to 61-year-old Ayşe Vural in Izmir, who was retried on charges of strangling her 39-year-old daughter, Zeynep Vural, to death, was explained. The reasoned decision noted that Zeynep Vural had insulted and beaten her mother on the day of the incident, and that, according to a previous ruling by the Izmir 2nd Family Court, she was at risk of violence from her daughter. The sentence was reduced.
Ayşe Vural, who arrived at the Buca Police Department on May 17, 2021, surrendered, stating that she had killed her daughter. Police arrived at a house in the Laleli neighborhood and discovered Zeynep Vural's body. Upon examination, it was determined that Vural had been strangled. Ayşe Vural was taken into custody and arrested, while her husband, 72-year-old SV, and her son, 27-year-old Ö.V., were released on probation.
