Weekly rate increased, annual rate slowed down

Rosstat reported that inflation from May 6 to 12 was 0.06%, with the annual rate slowing to 10.1%.

In the previous week, the consumer price index was 0.03%.

Even earlier, in April, inflation was 0.10% per week and higher.

According to the Ministry of Economic Development , in annual terms, inflation on May 6-12 was 10.09% against 10.21% the week before. Since the beginning of the year, prices have increased by 3.28%.

Rosstat reports that vegetables and fruits have become cheaper over the last reporting week. The leaders are cucumbers (-9.6%), tomatoes (-5.9%) and bananas (-1.3%).

At the same time, prices increased for beets (+5.5%), onions (+5.1%), carrots (+4.8%), cabbage (+3.9%), potatoes (+2.6%), and apples (+0.9%).

From May 6 to 12, the prices for chicken meat (+1.2%), pork (+0.5%), hard, semi-hard and soft cheeses, and cottage cheese (+0.3%) increased.

At the same time, prices for chicken eggs (-1.2%) and vermicelli (-0.4%) decreased.

Among non-food products, televisions and smartphones became cheaper (-0.5%).

Gasoline prices increased by 0.1% over the week, while diesel prices remained virtually unchanged.
