Santos president promises reinforcements in June and says he is not afraid of transfer ban

After the goalless draw against Ceará, this Monday (12/5), for the Brazilian Championship, the president of Santos , Marcelo Teixeira, promised to go to the market to reinforce the team. The leader seemed quite bothered by the result at Allianz Parque and said that there will be arrivals and departures from the squad in June.
"Santos is on the market, both for new players and for new arrivals. Today, we have a new technical committee, a new philosophy and we are going to take actions and measures so that the group is strengthened to have a good campaign in the Brasileirão", said Marcelo Teixeira.
However, what could get in Santos' way are its debts. After all, the club has more than R$31 million in debts pending in legal proceedings. Recently, FIFA notified the institution to pay R$15.9 million for the purchase of João Basso from Arouca, in Portugal. Recently, former coach Pedro Caixinha also filed a lawsuit demanding a R$15 million termination fee. In turn, Marcelo Teixeira does not have a new transfer ban, which prevents Peixe from looking for reinforcements.
"Transfer bans were already planned, nobody wants them, but we have to work. Last year, three were avoided and three were suffered. We paid more than R$126 million in transfer bans. We have to be creative. New actions to increase the value of those that are under negotiation," added the president.
Santos still hopes to count on its main reinforcementSantos has already signed 11 reinforcements for the season, but has not yet managed to continue with the main one. After all, Neymar is still undergoing treatment for an injury to his left thigh and has a contract with the club only until the end of June.
