Football: Politécnico and AAC/SF renew partnership

The Polytechnic of Coimbra (IPC) and the Football Section of the Academic Association of Coimbra (AAC/SF) signed a protocol yesterday that allows cooperation in the sporting, academic, social and cultural areas.
Guilherme Preces, president of AAC/SF, argued that “together the two institutions are stronger” and promised to “open the doors and introduce the IPC to athletes”.
A protocol that “is part of a strategy” of the IPC that aims to fulfill the purpose of being “the institution of the territory and working with all agents of the territory”.
According to the president of the IPC, this relationship, moreover, delves into a “secular” history that is unknown to most people: “In the past, to play for Académica you had to be one of two things: either a student at the University of Coimbra or a student at the Escola Superior Agrária de Coimbra, which is exactly where we are now. At that time, Agrária housed those who did not go to university but liked football”, he explained.
