Beatriz Fernandes and Inês Penetra in the C2 500m final at the Canoeing World Championships

The duo, composed of Beatriz Fernandes and Inês Penetra, both students at the Polytechnic of Coimbra (IPC), today secured their place in the final in C2 500 meters, at the Canoeing World Championships, which take place until Sunday, August 24, in Milan (Italy).

The Portuguese duo participated in the second semi-final, having recorded the second best time, finishing the race in 1:59.58 min, which earned them a place in the A final.

The final will take place tomorrow, Friday (August 22), starting at 1:43 pm, with the Portuguese duo looking to win a medal.

Beatriz Fernandes and Inês Penetra are currently university world champions in the C2 200 meter category, a title won in Montemor-o-Velho in August of last year.
