UT Austin Portugal program launches new opportunity for advanced training in semiconductors.

The Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), in conjunction with the UT Austin Portugal Program , announces that applications are now open for the Online Stackable Graduate Certificate in Semiconductor Science and Engineering: Semiconductor Processes and Devices , offered by the University of Texas at Austin. This initiative is part of the fourth phase of the program, as outlined in the technical annex to the addendum to the partnership agreement between FCT and UT Austin.
This training offers a postgraduate certification in key areas of the semiconductor industry, focusing on manufacturing processes, device physics, and electronic materials. The program is entirely online, in an asynchronous format, allowing participants to develop technical skills without interrupting their professional activity.
This training is aimed at engineers, researchers, and technicians affiliated with institutions based in Portugal who hold a higher education degree in science or engineering. Selected participants, through the UT Austin Portugal Program, benefit from full tuition coverage. The certificate includes three curricular units and can be completed in approximately one year. Credits earned can be used to pursue studies in the Master's program in Semiconductor Engineering at UT Austin.
Applications are open until November 17, 2025. The next edition of the program is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2026. A non-refundable $100 application fee applies.
Additional information about the program and the application process can be found on the UT Austin Portugal Program website .
