Minister guarantees that there will be no students without teachers in 98% of schools

In at least 98% of schools, students will have classes in all subjects. This assurance was given by the Minister of Education this Wednesday.
Fernando Alexandre said, in an interview with Antena 1, that in “98%/99% of schools, all teachers are placed, and students will have classes in all subjects.”
Regarding the number of students without all subjects, the minister adds that it has not yet been calculated, but that the needs of schools are much lower than the number of teachers not yet placed.
There are "more than 20,000 unemployed professional teachers," he said, acknowledging, however, that the majority live in the north of the country and that the needs are essentially in the areas of Lisbon, Alentejo, and Algarve, where housing and travel costs are unaffordable.
According to Fernando Alexandre, at this moment, there should be around a thousand full timetables to be filled in schools.
It should be noted that the start of the school year begins at the end of this week for 1.6 million children and young people.
