Mother breastfed her two children live. Cristina reacts to the controversy

The Wednesday, August 13th broadcast of TVI's "Dois às 10" program was marked by a moment that is dividing opinions. While some praised the courage and love the image conveyed, others were scathing in their criticism.

But what happened? Mafalda, who was on TVI's morning show 'Dois às 10' to talk about her family vacation—which always takes place in the wild—ended up breastfeeding both her children at the same time, responding to their wishes.

In light of the uproar the moment generated on social media, Cristina Ferreira reacted on Thursday's broadcast of 'Dois às 10'.

"I really liked that family, I have to say. We were surprised because the mother was here breastfeeding her children, we didn't know. They wanted to start breastfeeding and, ready, they started breastfeeding," the communicator began by saying.

"I thought they were very well-behaved children, children who were very well-behaved," the presenter praised in response to those who considered it unacceptable that the mother had agreed to her son's request to breastfeed, who is no longer a baby.

"I think there was some controversy there because the lady was shown breastfeeding on television, that's the side I sleep best on. Do you sleep well?" Cristina asked, handing the floor over to Cláudio Ramos.

"I'm honest, the kids, that thing about them being raised freely, I think it's beautiful, even enviable, because the kids have freedom, they're cultured. They go to school, they do everything, and they're very educated.

I think that the lady breastfeeding the baby, the baby is hungry and has to breastfeed, obviously, she can protect herself or not, it's her choice, but the other baby breastfeeding the mother has to assert herself - okay, but that's my point of view", said Cláudio Ramos, making his opinion on the subject clear.

"But the other one wouldn't shut up, the lady was on television," Cristina reacted, showing understanding towards her mother's attitude.

" Mafalda has the right to do whatever she wants with her breast ," Cláudio Ramos concluded.

Although the family was on the show to talk about their wild camping vacation with their five children, the topic of breastfeeding ended up being broached by the hosts. Mafalda said live on air that she breastfed three of her five children at the same time and that one of them "breastfed until he was seven," statements that TVI highlighted on the "Dois às 10" program website and that ultimately sparked much of the controversy.

Cristina Ferreira has been making changes to her diet and exercise routine to become healthier as she approaches menopause. The presenter reveals that she "felt bloated and very inflamed."
