Wall Street closes mixed on earnings season

New York closed the day trading in mixed territory, in a week that will be marked by the release of earnings from Wall Street's largest companies.
The Dow Jones was the only index to record losses, falling 0.04% to 44,323.07 points. The S&P 500 rose 0.19% to 6,308.46 points, and the Nasdaq gained 0.38% to 20,974.18 points.
Verizon surged 4.06%, Nike rose 2.20%, Amazon increased 1.41%, and Walmart added 1.34%. Countercyclically, American Express lost 1.62%, Travelers fell 1.03%, Honeywell slipped 0.56%, and Nvidia slipped 0.54%.
In the oil market, Texas WTI fell 0.47%, settling at $65.74 per barrel, while Brent slipped 0.40% to $69. Natural gas fell 7.15% to $3.310.
In the foreign exchange market, the euro appreciated 0.54% against the dollar, settling at 1.169 dollars.
