PSI appreciated in August compared to July and even more compared to last year
The Lisbon Stock Exchange index rose in August, despite the holidays. That month, the PSI index closed at 7,760.08 points, up 0.6% from July and 14.8% from the same period in 2024.
The value of transactions carried out on the secondary spot market totaled 3,826.9 million euros, 437.2 million euros (12.9%) more than in August and 1,769.2 million euros (86.0%) more than in August 2024, revealed the Securities Market Commission (CMVM).
BCP (13.32%), EDP (13.00%) and EDP Renováveis (12.95%) were the issuers with the greatest representation in the index.
The index's volatility was 10.93%, above the 10.24% recorded in the previous month and the 12.19% recorded in the same period last year.
The CMVM says that the market capitalization of Euronext Lisbon totaled 222,860.2 million euros (222.9 billion euros), 380.7 million (0.2%) less than in the previous month and 6.1% more than in the same period last year.
The equity segment of the regulated market rose 0.4% to 87,760.4 million euros and the bond segment fell 0.4% to 135,002.5 million euros.
