Portugal to host PGA Tour Champions golf event

The Algarve region will once again host a professional golf tournament, hosting the Portugal Invitational in 2026, the PGA Tour Champions, Arrow Global Group, Turismo de Portugal and Turismo do Algarve announced this Monday.
The event will take place at The Els Club Vilamoura, formerly known as Dom Pedro Victoria, between July 31 and August 2, 2026, and will feature the participation of 78 players, including members of the PGA Tour Champions, Legends Tour and the World Golf Hall of Fame.
The first edition of the Portugal Invitational, part of a five-year partnership, will mark the debut of individual PGA Tour stroke play events in Portugal and will feature three million dollars in prize money.
"We are thrilled to partner with Arrow Global Group, Turismo de Portugal, Turismo de Algarve, and Ernie Els to announce this exciting first PGA TOUR Champions event in Portugal. This circuit is a global benchmark that welcomes the sport's legends, and we know golf fans in Portugal and across Europe will love the opportunity to see them compete live at The Els Club Vilamoura," said Miller Brady, president of PGA Tour Champions.
The Portugal Invitational will be held at The Els Club Vilamoura, designed by South African Ernie Els, seven-time PGA Tour Champions winner and member of the World Golf Hall of Fame, who renovated the former Portugal Masters course, which counted towards the DP World Tour between 2007 and 2022.
