Fires. More than 50 municipalities in 9 districts at maximum risk

More than 50 municipalities in the districts of Bragança, Vila Real, Viseu, Guarda, Castelo Branco, Coimbra, Santarém, Portalegre and Faro are at maximum risk of rural fires this Friday, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).
Several municipalities in the northern and central interior and the Algarve are at very high risk of rural fires this Friday, according to the IPMA.
According to the institute's calculations, the rural fire danger will remain high at least until Monday in some districts.
This hazard, determined by the IPMA, has five levels, ranging from low to high. Calculations are obtained from air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, and precipitation over the last 24 hours.
The IPMA forecasts very cloudy skies on the north and central coasts on the mainland this Friday, with light rain or drizzle, strong winds on the coastal strip of the southern region and in the highlands and a slight drop in temperatures, especially the maximum.
Minimum temperatures will range from 11 degrees Celsius (in Guarda and Viseu) to 20 (in Faro) and maximum temperatures will range from 22 (in Porto and Viana do Castelo) to 32 (in Faro).
