BRAZIL JOURNAL: Rede D'Or prepares offer for Fleury

Rede D'Or is preparing a bid to acquire Grupo Fleury, in another verticalization move in the supplemental healthcare value chain, sources familiar with the matter told Brazil Journal . Information about the talks was first reported by Lauro Jardim in his column in O Globo.

Rede D'Or was a Fleury shareholder 15 years ago, when the Molls sold their Rio de Janeiro laboratory chain, Labs D'Or, for R$1 billion. Later, the family liquidated its stake in the company by selling its shares on the market.

The transaction is designed as a cash offer, but it will also include payment in shares to allow shareholders who wish to remain in the company, the sources said.
