Porto Book Fair closes with highest number of visitors ever

"The Porto Book Fair 2025 bid farewell to the Crystal Palace Gardens this Sunday, surpassing the number of visitors of previous years. Over the course of 17 days, more than 254,000 people visited the literary festival," reads the press release sent to the media today.
The 12th edition of the Porto Book Fair paid tribute to the Portuguese composer and musician Sérgio Godinho, who celebrates his 80th birthday this year.
Sérgio Godinho thus joined other names in Portuguese literature who have been honored at the Porto Book Fair in the past, such as Eugénio de Andrade, Manuel António Pina, José Mário Branco, Júlio Dinis, Eduardo Lourenço, Ana Luísa Amaral, Sophia de Mello Breyner, Agustina Bessa-Luís and Vasco Graça Moura.
"The Porto Book Fair has once again established itself as a meeting place between the city and culture. The 2025 edition will be marked by public participation, the quality and diversity of the program, and, inevitably, the tribute to Sérgio Godinho," reads the same press release.
The literary event offered conversations with writers, book launches, two dozen concerts, film screenings, and "more than 80 activities for children and young people and their families."
