Banksy artwork appears in London after protesters are arrested

A new work by mysterious street artist Banksy appeared on Monday (8) on a side wall of a court building located in the heart of London, England.

The image taken on one of the facades of the Royal Courts of Justice depicts a judge trying to strike a fallen protester with a gavel, just days after almost 900 people were arrested during a pro-Palestine rally in the English capital.

The victim is recognizable as a protester by the protest sign he holds, dripping with blood. The mural's authenticity was certified, as usual, by an Instagram account linked to the mysterious Bristol artist.

There is no text or explicit references to current events, but the BBC considers the art to be related to protests against the recent and controversial ban on the group Palestine Action, defined by the British government as a "terrorist organization".

The harsh measure was confirmed after several members of the organization invaded a British Air Force base and caused damage estimated at US$10 million.

Yesterday's protests (7) resulted in the arrest of almost a thousand mostly peaceful demonstrators who, despite not being members of Palestine Action, gathered in London to criticize the rules against the group.
