Another edition of Belo Horizonte 's Virada Cultural is coming! From August 23rd to 24th, the capital of Minas Gerais will have 24 hours of uninterrupted cultural programming in the city's downtown area. Confirmed artists include Carlinhos Brown, Israel and Rodolffo, Fat Family, and Djonga. The event will also launch Cura BH 2025, a project that has transformed the urban landscape of the capital of Minas Gerais.
The 10th edition of Virada Cultural will occupy streets, squares, overpasses and cultural facilities with a wide variety of attractions in the city's downtown area.

José de Abreu returns to the stage after more than a decade with "The Whale ," on August 23rd and 24th at Cine Theatro Brasil. The play addresses themes of isolation, affection, and reconnection, with a strong emotional appeal. The production speaks to the LGBTQIA+ audience by addressing religious intolerance and acceptance. The work gained notoriety after being adapted into a film starring Brendan Fraser.

On August 22nd and 23rd, at 8 pm, the Ouro Preto Orchestra presents "Happy Old Year, the Opera at the Palácio das Artes." Inspired by Marcelo Rubens Paiva's autobiography, the production combines concert music, theater, and literature. Directed by Rodrigo Toffolo and Julliano Mendes, the show is moving and touches on youth and resilience. The cast includes Johny França, Jabez Lima, Marília Vargas, and Arrigo Barnabé. The production celebrates the Orchestra's 25th anniversary.

On Saturday (23), Praça JK hosts the Winter in the Square event, starting at 2 pm. Music, wine and gastronomy come together in one place. There will be an acoustic show by Tianastácia, a tribute to Queen with Lurex, rock classics with Cash and Velotrol, as well as DJ Siman.

CCBB BH hosts Ruth & Léa , with sessions celebrating the lives of Ruth de Souza and Léa Garcia. Bárbara Reis and Ivy Souza play the protagonists in a production that combines memory, art, and representation. The play is directed by Luiz Antônio Pilar and written by Dione Carlos, with a live score by Gláucia Negreiros.

The show Kintsugi, 100 Memories premieres in BH this Friday (22). Directed by Emilio García Wehbi and written by Pedro Kosovski, the production proposes a poetic reflection on memory and reconstruction, with sessions running until September 15. Performances take place from Friday to Monday, always at 7 pm. On Saturdays, there is interpretation in Libras.

On August 23rd, the rooftop of Shopping do Avião in Contagem will host the Modo Avião event, featuring big names in pagode. Tiee will be the highlight of the night, with hits like "Acende o Celular" and "Modo Avião." The group Akatu and singer Cassinho will also perform at the event.
