VRSA prepares redevelopment of 36 green areas in the municipality

The Vila Real de Santo António City Council (VRSA) announced on social media that it will move forward with the redevelopment of 36 green spaces throughout the municipality. The project aims to make these spaces more sustainable and prepared to withstand increasingly frequent droughts.
The plan includes the introduction of native species and the conversion of sprinkler irrigation systems to drip irrigation, considered a "more efficient solution." According to the municipality, these changes will allow for "greater water savings" and "less maintenance, ensuring that public spaces remain attractive and functional."
"With this initiative, which has already been submitted as an application to the Portugal 2030 program, the municipality reinforces its commitment to environmental sustainability and the creation of quality spaces for the population," the publication concludes.
