BH Cultural Turnaround: See changes to traffic in the city center starting this Friday

Virada Cultural de BH will be held between August 23rd and 24th
According to the Municipal Executive, the changes aim to ensure the safety of drivers, pedestrians, and festival-goers, as well as to facilitate travel in the region ( see below ). The operation will be coordinated by BHTrans, with support from the Military Police and the Municipal Guard.

The closures begin on Friday (22) and continue until the early hours of Monday (25), when the structure is scheduled to be dismantled.
Check out the main points affected :
- 8am : Bahia Street, between Contorno Avenue and Guaicurus Street.
- 8:00 p.m .: Guaicurus Street, between Aarão Reis Street and Andradas Avenue; between Bahia Street and Espírito Santo Street.
- 2 pm : Avenida dos Andradas (towards the bus station) and Rua dos Caetés (between Avenida dos Andradas and Rua da Bahia) will have partial closures for setting up tents and bathrooms.
- 4 pm : Road closures on sections of Andradas, Afonso Pena, Assis Chateaubriand (Santa Tereza Viaduct) avenues, and Caetés, Bahia, Tamoios and Tupinambás streets.
- A temporary cycle path will be created on Avenida Amazonas, between Raul Soares and Sete squares.
- Closure on Avenida Afonso Pena, between Amazonas and Carandaí avenues, for the Crafts Fair.
- The closures will continue until the end of the dismantling, scheduled for 4 am.
- Access to the hospital area will be maintained to ensure the circulation of ambulances and emergency vehicles.
BHTrans has defined alternative routes for drivers. The detours include sections along Amazonas, Afonso Pena, Assis Chateaubriand, and João Pinheiro avenues, among others. The full list can be found on the city's website and on the Waze and Google Maps apps.
During the Virada Cultural, there will be reinforcements on the bus lines that serve the Center and the São Gabriel, Vilarinho, Pampulha, Venda Nova, Diamante, Barreiro, Santos Dumont and Paraná stations. The Move stations on Antônio Carlos and Cristiano Machado avenues will operate throughout the early hours of Sunday (24).
Some lines will have their routes and boarding/disembarking points changed from 2 pm on Saturday (23). Timetables can be found on the city hall website .
The subway will operate normally from 5:15 AM to 11 PM. A taxi stand will be set up on Rua dos Tupinambás, between Rua da Bahia and Avenida dos Andradas. Other taxi stands in the area will also be available.
