AT officials investigated for allowing cocaine to pass through the ports of Lisbon, Setúbal and Sines

The issue is suspected corruption involving tax authorities at customs offices in these seaports. They are suspected of allowing tons of cocaine to be imported from major cartels.
According to CNN Portugal, the Judicial Police are carrying out a major anti-corruption operation this Tuesday morning, targeting customs officials at some of the country's main seaports.
According to the news reported by the television station, the officials in question allegedly allowed ships loaded with tons of cocaine from South America to enter the country, which were destined for Europe, in exchange for bribes.
Behind these drug trafficking operations are Colombian cartels and large international criminal associations such as the Primeiro Comando da Capital, from Brazil.
In addition to corruption, crimes such as international drug trafficking and money laundering are at stake.
